CARINA CASUSCELLI– Director, actress and costume designer.
Graduated in Fashion at the Anhembi Morumbi University and TeatroEscola Macunaíma.
Attended several workshops on playwriting and directiongiven by Marici Salomão, João das Neves, Maria Lucia Pereira, among others.In the first semester of 2012 was nominated to the Aesthetical InteractionsAward – FUNARTE, and made a wide programme in the first semester of 2010,including workshops, dramatic readings and a brand’s fashion show of“Fashion is in Low – for the democracy of bodies”.
This project had thecollaboration of Dario D’Ambrosi, founder and director of ‘TeatroPatológico’ of Rome, who during this period in Brazil conducted workshops,lectures, debate and performed his play “Tutti Non ci sono” at SESCConsolação.In 2009, participated of the Sannio Film Festival, in Santa Ágata dei Goti, Italy.
In 2003 took the Best Videomaker Award at the Fashion Week –Creators’ House, in Sao Paulo.Coordinates the Multimedia Signals Project since 2002, which wasgranted in 2004 with the VAI sponsorship, a program from the MunicipalGovernment Secretary of Culture for the play “Signals of a Dream”, withdirection and playwright of deaf actresses and also in 2007 with the project“Informal... Performing the Fashion in Bras”, with south Americanimmigrants.In Italy, collaborated with Cia. Teatro Del Contagio, directed byCarmen Chimienti, working in a fashion market research job in main fashionfairs like Mipel, Moda In, Anteprima and Micam-Milan, also attended workshops of TV and cinema at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, inMilan.
Actually, she’s involved in the production of the play “Memories ofPerla”, based on a true story of a Jew artist, Perla who was part of theLilliput Troupe – a dwarf artist family's survival of the Holocaust.
In 2001 joined the Cia. Nova de Teatro as actress and since thenbecome the one responsible for the creation and development of costume ofplays and performances such as: “Beckett in Repertoire I, II and III”,“Ulysses”, “Dante and Beatriz”, “Heiner Muller in Repertoire”, “I,Machado de Assis”, “Caminos Invisibles...La Partida”, “The crypt of Poe and Krísis”.
With Cia. Nova de Teatro, she wins the first place of Internationalward "Teatro dell ‘inclusione Teresa Pomodoro 2012 , of play "CaminosInvisibles...La Partida", for playwriting and direction.
Since 2010 acts as a facilitator in the project Segundo Turno Cultural of the Secretariat Municipal of Rio de Janeiro Cultural, teaching workshops for Masks for Theatre and Fashion Designer for childrens, teenagers and youth from public schools.
